Fear — Pain : Regenerate — Explore
Sometimes I feel
There are wounds so deep inside of me
That my breathe can’t seem to reach
No matter the strength of my inhale
That the light,
No matter which angle it rests
Can’t seem to expose
That even a lover’s embrace — tender and warm
Only grazes the surface of,
Sending prickles down my spine.
Fear
Still, I think
My hurt reverberates
Shows up in all of the in between places
Makes itself known;
Maybe under a different name
But in one way or another,
Makes itself known.
Pain
———————–———————————————–
It’s funny under the earth —
We’re all so afraid of ourselves
Some part at least —
And yet, it is precisely this piece
That moves us
Conscious or unwilling
We dig and we bury and we bury and we dig
Until we hit something hard
Shiny and reflective —
A mirror.
Turn over the dirt.
Regenerate.
Who is that?
That hurting part of you
Or me or us
Coming up for air
Quiet — you might hear them,
This is good, no?
Give them light.
Be still for a moment.
Who is that?
Explore.
